Description The Chickadeehill escape chamber (= AWK) linearizes the spring characteristic of the suspension fork and gets even more performance out of the air damping. Air as a spring element clearly dominates the market for suspension forks with up to 180mm travel and has established itself as a light, versatile alternative to the steel spring. A characteristic feature of air springs, however, is the non-linear characteristic. This is evident in the spongy middle area of the fork. This is exactly where the AWK comes in with a second positive chamber and flying pistons as well as an increased pressure level. The piston separates both positive chambers, but from about half the travel allows interaction between the two positive chambers depending on the travel.
